The latest release from the legendary lyricist Chino XL, titled “Always There,” has officially dropped — a striking reminder of his brilliance and complexity. Produced by Johnny Slash, the track pairs haunting, cinematic production with Chino’s signature rapid-fire delivery and layered metaphors — a style fans have come to know and respect.
“Always There” dives into emotionally raw territory, touching on themes of hidden pain, mental health struggles, and the deeply personal conflict between being a devoted father and battling inner demons. The wordplay is sharp, introspective, and evocative — showcasing Chino’s unmatched ability to turn vulnerability into poetry.
This single is part of his upcoming album Ascen7ion, which will be available exclusively in physical format through 1332 Records. “Always There” stands as the only single to be released from the project, making it especially meaningful for fans and collectors alike. The album will be released as part of a special 3-disc collection, also featuring Chino XL’s previous posthumous projects Darkness and Other Colors and Maps of Bones
